Previous Campaigns

ASH and the Smokefree Action Coalition (SFAC) have been instrumental in campaigning for tobacco control legislation in the UK over the last two decades. This has resulted in UK smoking prevalence more than halving from around 27% in 2000 to just under 11% in 2024.

This section outlines some of the key policies behind this decline, and describes the campaigns led by ASH and the SFAC that helped to deliver them.
