Summary
This 2-page training guide for mental health professionals sets out each professional groups’ responsibilities in the stop smoking pathway and examples of appropriate training. The guide includes links to online training resources developed by the National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training (NCSCT). Professional groups covered in the guide include:
- Mental health nurses (inpatient & community)
- Mental health nurses with a lead responsibility for physical health/smoking cessation
- Psychiatrists (inpatient & community)
- Allied Health Professionals working in mental health settings.
