Tobacco industry admits to giving free cigarettes to employees making them sick from smoking

Tobacco companies have admitted giving their employees free cigarettes and are now faced with legal challenges from those employees now sick from smoking. The industry denied that tobacco was addictive and the extent of the harm it caused. ASH has challenged all four major tobacco manufacturers, BAT, Imperial Tobacco, Gallaher (part of Japan Tobacco International) and Philip Morris International, (PMI) about these practices and what they did to warn people of the risks.
